FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What happens if the user does not have a smartphone to scan the QR code?

We recommend that the receptionist or security at the entrance of the premises have a Company sponsored smartphone connected to the WiFi that can be used by anyone wishing to enter the premises. We also have a solution that can utelise scanning of a visitor ID card barcode if he/she visited the premises before. Screenng information for learners without smartphones and ID's can be entered by a teacher directly on the Saniscan system.

How long does the battery on the Saniscan unit last before it needs to be recharged?

It depends on how many times it gets used per day but it will last at least one day in high usage conditions and can even last a week if the premises is not visited by many people. The battery re-charges in around 6 hours.

Why am I being charged a subscription fee if I paid for the Saniscan unit?

The price you paid is for the purchase of the sanitising thermometer and the account activation fee. The subscription fee includes the use of the Saniscan hardware, software, future software upgrades and related services provided by Saniscan.  Should you cancel the subscription agreement you will be entitled to keep the sanitising thermometer as your property.

How long does it take for a user to complete the questions form?

The questions form is customised for the needs of each subscriber and therefore contains only the information required by the subscriber in order to gain access to its premises. Therefore the more questions the longer it will take. Having said this answers to Covid questions as mostly a tick box with a "Yes" or "No" which is quick to complete. Questions are completed once per day and can conveniently  be answered at any time. Furthermore each users answers are stored on their smartphone and is used to pre-populate the form on the next occasion when it needs to be completed. This allows for a very fast completion as almost all the information basically just needs to be confirmed by the user.

How can I be sure that the personal information captured will be used responsibly?

The information captured is done so electronically on the smartphone of the user and is therefore more secure than a paper based system that can be viewed by other users. The information is encrypted and stored by professional hosting companies that specialise in keeping information secure. The only persons with access to the information are the authorised person(s) of each subscriber who has to use a login and password procedure to gain access. A subscriber can only view information of visitors to their premises and can only use it for purposes of managing the spread of viruses in their organisation. Personal information is deleted after 30 days or as prescribed by law. Saniscan does not use the information captured but merely ensures that it is made available to subscribers.

How can the Saniscan system assist in managing the spread of Viruses?

We now know that the 2 most important ways to prevent the spread of viruses are the sanitisation of hands and social distancing. The Saniscan system enhances both these aspects over existing systems through its touchless and social distancing features. It also delivers an indication of the risk of a person being infected by utilising more information than just the body temperature of the user which we know is an unreliable indicator of infection when used in isolation.

Can the Saniscan device integrate with our existing electronic screening system?

The Saniscan device has already been integrated into a number of inhouse developed screening systems making them even faster and safer.  Most inhouse systems are inadequate or labour intensive when it comes to sanitisation and physical temperature verification. The Sanscan sanitising thermometer overcomes these deficiencies and the QR code generation step ensures that the entire screening process has been completed.
